CANCELLATION POLICY

CANCELLATION BY US - We will cancel a session only in the case of high wind or thunder and lightning. We will inform you if that is the case.

CANCELLATION BY YOU - Please inform Alison if you or your child are unable to attend a session as soon as possible.

CHECK IN - with the appointed assistant for the session.

FACILITIES - Permission for use of Great Wymondley Recreation ground is granted by the landowner.

All equipment provided belongs to and is maintained by Join the Dots Forest School.

MEDICAL AND OTHER CONCERNS

A permission, emergency contact, medical, dietary needs form must be completed and given to your session leader prior to attending a session. Forms available -alison@jointhedotsforestschool.co.uk.

BOOKINGS & ADMISSIONS

Join the Dots Forest School is open to all young people whatever their ethnicity, religion. Please make bookings two weeks prior to the session with full payment by bank transfer. Your child can only be admitted once all forms in the section above have been completed and submitted. The initial session is offered as a taster, if you/your child enjoy(s) it, we anticipate a block booking of the next three sessions. This is because the greatest benefit for your child’s learning and development is derived from regular attendance when seasonal changes can be observed, for example.

PROGRAMME - equal opportunities

Join the Dots Forest School experiences are underpinned by the Principle that all people are equal. Everyone is welcome whatever their age, ability and ethnicity. All staff adhere to these principles when delivering the programme.

Join the Dots Forest School, based on Great Wymondley Recreation Ground, is primarily aimed at youngsters age 2-11, although young people older than this are welcome to join the experiences we offer. 2 & 3 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Programmes run throughout the year on every 3rd Saturday of the month, with additional dates in school half term breaks and holidays. Places are on a first come first serve basis, up to 10 places.

QUALIFICATIONS - Paperwork

Us - Join the Dots Forest School staff are experienced professionals in working with children in an outdoor setting with appropriate insurances and DBS checks.

You - In order for your child to attend a Join the Dots Forest School session, the relevant forms must be completed.

GPDR - Confidentiality

Contact details will not be shared with other parties without prior consent.

Access to a young person’s file will be available to them and their parents/carer if appropriate. Files will not be available to other parents or children. 

Discussions with staff regarding individual children will be to assist with planning their development and learning or group dynamics only. In the event of a child's safety being in question then Child Protection Policy will override confidentiality on a need to know basis.

Personal information relating to a child, will be kept in a confidential file, this will not be shared with the group, but may be shared with staff members if appropriate.  

CONSULTANCY

Join the Dots Forest School offers inspirational consultancy to Headteachers in assisting setting up Forest School based Outdoor Learning programmes in schools. We come to your school, speak with staff and offer advise according to your needs based on the Forest School ethos.
