What we do

Join the dots Forest School invites children age 2 - 12 years to explore the nutritious seed bed of fun experiences inspired by the surprising biodiversity on Great Wymondley Recreation ground. Toddler to pre-teen can learn respect for self, others and the environment through play in our relaxed, safe, yet exciting environment supported by our experienced staff. We spark innate curiosity, ignite a flame, tend it with games playing, story telling, music, art and drama making, flora and fauna identification and uses, knot and lashing for shelter and den building, rope throwing for swings and abseiling, bushcraft, furniture and decoration making experiences. Clear safety protocols and appropriate behaviour are taught from day one fostering thought and action which grows into the warm, steady glow of Learning for Life.

Children grow in confidence as they increasingly become able to organise their own learning, discovering their own pathway, in their own time, in their own way, enjoying teaching new comers the skills they have learned. Thus forging effective relationships, communication and social skills, resilience, emotional intelligence and independence enabling them to grow from sapling to the broadening tree of their adult lives.

Relax, Play, Learn

We have great fun at Join the Dots Forest School, learning as we play. In the peaceful setting of Great Wymondley Recreation Ground, we find there is never enough time to do all the things we want in a single session, so we all keep coming back for more.

Explore Nature

Enjoy your child’s innate curiosity as they explore our natural environment. We can all benefit from the diverse experiences nature offers if we take time to look.

Fire & Cooking

Sit around the campfire to enjoy a real community experience of your own wholesome food cooked by your own fair hand and unadulterated by additives.

Adult de-stress

I arrived stressed, I soon felt relaxed though, time just flew by. Having time to play and engage with nature with my son was one of the best times I have spent with him.

We had so much fun…
